The first Nike Air Mag was offered on an eBay auction in 2011, with the purpose of helping the fight against Parkinson’s disease. The 2011 version of the shoe lit up but lacked the self-lacing technology of the 2016 version. The 2016 version is available via the Nike Snkrs app, Nike+ app and Nike.com for a raffle. Raffle tickets are $10 and enter the ticket holder into the draw to win this iconic sneaker. All proceeds from the raffle of the Air Mag will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
